About Me

My photo

Pragmatic, reserved and a deep thinker who loves family, sports especially football where am married to two wives: the first, AC Milan who has my loyalty and the second wife, Manchester United who has all my undying love and pampering, lifestyle and society parties. Need I say the law is more than a profession but a lifestyle for me.

Adekanye Adeyinka Olajide.

I do it for me

I have been struggling to write of late not for lack of inspiration, but because I have been a victim of too much barraging of thoughts that have been galloping in my head like the Australian kangaroo leaping for survival. This has made it increasingly difficult to provoke a compendium from these streams of ideas that flows through my head like the Nile River or to articulate crisply those words into a specific space as this. Likewise, I have just been exasperated from the sheer turmoil in the world, which has made me sad so much so sometimes, I wonder – why write?

Sincerely, space when limited or defined is the ultimate form of impediment. Indeed, it is similar to caging a bird in a mansion where it has a large area it can cover but it remains a bird with boundaries; one that cannot fully explore unhindered without restrictions or barriers. The bird is a space cadet in a confined space. It can soar, spread its wings, but it has a roof, a ceiling, and a window that blocks its full potentials. My mind right now harbours the most radical ideas, unusually unconventional, and compelling. However, the limitations of the space we have created as human makes plucking those ideas slow as I tread with caution and I just feel ensnared.

As humans, I know we need boundaries and rules to function and act appropriately else, the anarchy innate in humans will cause supreme chaos if unleashed without constraints. Indeed, the heart of man is not just desperately wicked but seeks to do evil, which makes it paramount to contain human excesses through strong laws and enforcement by authority. Conversely, it is bewildering how our need to please everyone, respect people’s opinions even when they are wrong, avoid confrontations, compliment needs of people, legalise rights that are often repugnant, validate banal things over spirituality and purity has brought us to a place of the denial of truth.

Overtime, I have witnessed a drastic decline in the acknowledgement of truth, defence of values, upholding of justice, equity, and good conscience, brutal death of morals for the actualisation of selfish, biased, unholy, and damning traits for the so-called fostering of the peace of the universe. The rights and privileges of a selected few have been imposed even when they are amoral, condemnable, and incongruous; claiming that the society is not encompassing, which they describe as draconian.

In an attempt to provide for the needs of everyone by giving rights to the most insignificant issue, the world has become more complex leaving in its trail confusion, pandemonium, hate, wars, as people have sort for a reason to enjoy their world in their redefined context regardless of its impact through societal inclusion. The society battles more with crimes stemming from emotional outbursts caused by trepidations of all kinds. There has been a huge collapse of peace since the statutes accommodated human greediness.

The space the world has propagated through its ill-advised course has hampered the true growth of peace through love via careful acceptance of all. The heart of man has grown shockingly hollow with the inhibitions unnecessarily created through clogging of the harmony of rights with clusters of provisions, which suffocate the true capturing of will.

Kind regards as you start the new week,
