About Me

My photo

Pragmatic, reserved and a deep thinker who loves family, sports especially football where am married to two wives: the first, AC Milan who has my loyalty and the second wife, Manchester United who has all my undying love and pampering, lifestyle and society parties. Need I say the law is more than a profession but a lifestyle for me.

Adekanye Adeyinka Olajide.

I do it for me

WHY YOU SHOULD NOT MARRY!

Love is about the most important thing in marriage and life generally. However, like many things in life, it is not a sufficient reason to making a marriage last. Therefore, it is advised that where the things I will be discussing are lacking, the journey of marriage is not one to embark on without the prerequisites I will be espousing.

An individual who lacks in being resolute with decision-making should not think of marriage. The truth is that the moment you get close to a person, you start to realise their flaws and they begin to look less attractive to you. Hence, when you cannot be resolute in your decision to stay and stick with them no matter what, you are not ripe for marriage.

The idea of marriage should not cross your mind where you cannot accommodate the other party. Truth be told, no one is perfect. Therefore, one must have the maturity to adapt to the lifestyle of another. In matters of taste, one must flow with the tides even though you have to remain unyielding in opinions that affect your principles, you must still shift grounds. Where one cannot cope with such position, flee from marriage.

Where you see your partner as a liability or someone that burdens your heart, you are better off single than copulated. Some people sincerely do not have the acumen to manage people. They consider the role of caring for another person daily too colossal and the proximity of the closeness too close for comfort. Such people can handle finances, manage people, and direct events because they establish a distant relationship with them but cannot survive the routine of coexisting with a partner.

When you are not a lover of babies, marriage is not for you. For many, they deem rearing children as too much distraction, which brings pressure on them and this is a thing they cannot handle. They consider them the ‘little devils’ and some are as extreme as wanting to strangulate them. These types of people should flee from marriage as one does the devil because children are the fruit of marriage.

Some people do not have intrapersonal relationship and as such, should desist from conceiving the idea of marriage. Where you cannot have a rapport with friends and families of your partner – especially in-laws – but always want to remain with your partner alone, you will encounter deep-rooted problems. Avoid marriage!

When one cannot be loyal, marriage is not for you! I know all of us are liars even when we call the lies white or black, we know they are lies. We lie to ourselves, to each other and to God. If this innate trait is one you refuse to shed, marriage is not for you. Loyalty is a vital ingredient and where we cannot stand by our promises by keeping to it, we do not need to deceive others because those vows can actually mean the world to them.

If you are as obstinate as a bone and as proud as a peacock, marriage is not an option for you. One must be approachable, open, and unassuming; the opinions of others must count because it is pertinent to make people feel important. Issues must not take pre-eminence over individuals and one must not be indignant. Where our ways are the only perfect ones in our eyes, the institution of marriage is not one that concerns us.

You should not marry if your partner is not your friend. You must only marry that person you are comfortable with and cherish, who you cannot stay angry at, the person that you enjoy his or her company so much that you cannot exist without, that person who loves you regardless of your substance, that person who revels in playing silly with you.

For you to marry, you must be willing to share everything. When you cannot share your time, resources, love without any ulterior motives then marriage is not an option for you. Many only give where benefits either fringe, remote or major will accrue to them. They desire their partner only for how good they are with sex, how adorable they look in their arms, how beautiful or handsome they are, how they can oppress their friends with gifts they get from them. Yes, they claim to love but in truth, it is with strings attached. Only those who do these things sincerely are marriage worthy.

Consequently, as kids crave for toys, prisoners for freedom, cowboys for their horses, women for attention, and men for money, you for the love of your life, so does marriage require love and all of the aforementioned.
