About Me

My photo

Pragmatic, reserved and a deep thinker who loves family, sports especially football where am married to two wives: the first, AC Milan who has my loyalty and the second wife, Manchester United who has all my undying love and pampering, lifestyle and society parties. Need I say the law is more than a profession but a lifestyle for me.

Adekanye Adeyinka Olajide.

I do it for me

JUST DO IT!

Yesterday, you said you will do it today but like yesterday, today is gone again and you did not, only left with tomorrow just as you were yesterday. This got me thinking how beautiful the world would have been had we done just half of the things we proposed in our hearts. You can imagine the contributions we will be putting in to the growth of the world even if it were in trickles and the subsequent ripple effects on the stratosphere at large or just the hemisphere. Let us not look at the benefits of our acts on the world but the satisfaction and advantage it brings to us.

I believe that for an idea to drop in one’s heart, or for a desire impressed upon an individual that it seems bigger than the person does; it must have a purpose he or she must fulfil. Failing to do so leaves one empty. No matter how insignificant one perceives that thought, idea, or notion, its importance when executed cannot be undermined. Every thought, feeling, idea, is a seed that we must sow and watch the yields of the growth and process. Nothing is useless or inconsequential; we either learn from it or blessed from the process. It is the fear factor, laziness, and self-dismissal of important issues that prevent us from executing them.

This brings me to the conclusion that procrastination is the mother of failure. Each time we defer a thing, we are allowing languor to creep into our lives and gradually, we have things piling up needing urgent attendance to, which consequently never justly and scrupulously executed. The more things we adjourn, the more vital things slip out of our minds and we will never know what the purpose of those things, if properly and promptly executed would have been.

Therefore, make it a habit today to start to do that thing you have always wanted to do as soon as the cravings come. After all, there is no harm in trying. You will never know what you stand to gain by trying. Your not trying is only cowardly and brings no result other than fear and doubts. Whatsoever you desire to do even if it is going to harm you, just do it. In any case, you actually cannot predict the outcome so why not stake against the odds you are already familiar with in our head.

Have you always wanted to learn how to dance like me? Just do it! Start to collect all the dancing clips you come across and practise the moves to perfection, then go show your skills at the next party regardless of how awful it might turn out. Do not be discouraged even if just like me, your feet just do not follow the moves in our head and your body is too rigid to pull of those fantastic moves you have played out in your head. Trust me if 2face can SEKEM, then okokonioko, you sure can follow the new steps too. At least if it still does not come off good, you can be like me acknowledged as the best dancer seating! I tell you, I can perform Chris Brown’s stunts and SEKEM moves right on my seat only that once I step on the dance floor, my legs and waist freeze though in my head, I am pulling it off.

Have you always wanted to tell that person how much you love them but you are scared of their reaction, then stay at arms length and scream on top of your voice ‘I LOVE YOU’ toritorun. That way, you avoid their reaction because if you are too close, some can slap your face in a fast forward motion. Is it that you have always wanted to go on that journey but have not had the means, start looking for someone going that route and have an experience with them! You might bless someone with your presence or simply put a smile on his or her face by crossing his or her path. For some, you have always wanted to address a crowd and motivate people but cannot gather that sort of number. Start by joining a bus commuting passengers on a long trip, when you are half way – peradventure they decide to throw you out, you will not walk for too long, clear our throat and hijack the peace of the passengers with your speech. Mesmerise, enchant, get their attention, and before you know it, you might be talking on the stage at a gala night.

Whatever thing you have always wanted to do, NOW is the time. Write that article even if it abuses your boss or that bully at work, just make sure your boss never reads it and the bully does not have your home address respectively. If they do, O.Y.O, do not claim I inspired you! My point is burst that bubble, climb that mountain, soar beyond the sky, eat that food, kiss that special girl at your work place – not when she is your boss oh! Just do it, act as if today is the only chance you have and there will never be a tomorrow.

With love,

ADEKANYE ADEYINKA .O.
