REASONS BEHIND BOWEN UNIVERSITY SHUTTING DOWN SCHOOL.

BOWEN, a Nigerian private university located in iwo, Osun state has gone down in the annals of the nation as the first private university to have its facilities shut down indefinitely by the school’s management following an uprising arising from pandemonium caused by students of the university.

However, we gathered from a reliable source as well as students who asked to be anonymous that this has been a case of too many things gone wrong, and a habitual deteriorating condition of social amenities, and academic facilities on ground; leading to persistent complains from students to the management. This surprisingly remained ignored before it actually degenerated to the state of anarchy.

From all indications, students have had to put up with power outage without provision of alternative power supply. This consequently made living unbearable, as not only did it affect studying productively but also hampered any attempt to a standard way of life befitting of a private university. We were able to gather that there were days without water supplied to hostels and that hotel structures were increasingly getting dilapidated.

Haven not attended to any of the yearnings of the students, the school then embarked on an outrageous decision to increase fees causing aggrieved students to stage a peaceful protest to exhibit their grievances. Well, the rest they say is history, as police were unleashed on the students in other to dispatch the growing agitated crowd leading to break down of law and order. The resistance held until late in the day took a rather terrifying turn when tear gas canister shot at students and into their hostels, which further heightened an already tensed environment.

We sure up the school management or
ganizes their affairs and have the interest of students at heart by doing all to restore students to having lectures run smoothly which is the priority and objective of attending a private university while also ensuring that facilities are adequately upgraded to contemporary standards.
