About Me

My photo

Pragmatic, reserved and a deep thinker who loves family, sports especially football where am married to two wives: the first, AC Milan who has my loyalty and the second wife, Manchester United who has all my undying love and pampering, lifestyle and society parties. Need I say the law is more than a profession but a lifestyle for me.

A LETTER TO MY GIRL.

Let the world be my witness and my heart bear testimony that you are the love I have fallen into.

There is no doubt that it must have been a supreme act of fate that made me fall in love with you in the first place. But I will attempt to try laying my feelings right on the line for you, spelling it out, chapter and versing it.

Indeed, I am the most incorrigible man gracing this planet, as imperfect as a painters work is before his eyes or this writing is in my view. I doubt there is a man as lazy as me or one as relentlessly incomplete as me. However, not trying to brag about my substance or attach any worth to myself; after all, it is through you that I find inestimable value for I place you more than a whole diamond field and you have all the virtues which I lack. I know of many who can count their worth but my love for you has grown to such excess that I cannot sum up the total of half my wealth. Truly those who measure up their wealth are nothing but beggars to me.

I make no dispute at the worth of those who attach their values to their cars, houses made of gold, horses or garments specially sewn at the cost of staggering figures. But my feeling is far more subtle and sensible; for in you, I find more delight.

Today more than any other, just for your sake, I wish I could employ the skills and mind of Shakespeare as well as the eyes of Michelangelo so that I can succinctly describe you in such ways that I could get even Cupid jealous but for fear of him shooting my messenger from heaven down with all his arrows, I will rage with words softly.

The love I have for you is such that under its heavy burden I sink; it is a love never before inspired in me. One that on its wings I soar and its pleasure nourishes my soul as a lover’s rain does the sea. My love for you is such that even razing conflagrations cannot stand. You brought meaning to Solomon's words “many waters cannot quench love.” I make bold to say that if Poseidon does attempt to quench my love with all the waters of the world together with god of Osun conniving, they will  be exhausted and my love still growing as eba that has been filled with water.

What else is it? Most certainly it is madness though discreet. The feelings I have are beyond a mad man’s tongue. They are like a coming of all spirits in one man. Only madness can have a similitude of comprehension.

Many ask: what is love that I feel so much of it so much so that it overwhelms me like water in a calabash. My simple answer is: love is not known. It is that unknown feeling that takes over a man making him a tenant in his own body. Love is a myth. It is a feeling that what is to come is still unsure.

If you are looking for the perfect definition of this feeling, am sorry to let you down for my love is not defined neither can it be well articulated? I have dwelt on the dictionaries of this world finding the most apposite definition of a love that fits mine. What they offer ridicules my most inner feelings such that if I knew those who composed such empty, banal and vague definition, I would engage them in a contest of fists and kicks with my most feeble bones but with an defeated and strong heart like the rocks of zuma and olumo because engaging them in banters will be too casual.

Well, maybe some day Soyinka will sum up my feelings in one of his arduously complicated created phrases or maybe Shakespeare must have defined it in a still to be discovered work of his. Well I take comfort in the fact that God sure understands the type of love I have for you my angel. Yes he must know after all he made all the beautiful wonders of the world – you inclusive. Above all, he is love.

Ever since you came my way, I knew the long search as finally ended. There will be no need again to look back, left or right. You are the chosen one my soul has been searching for; the only one that matters to me more than anything else in the world. With you my angel, I know my purpose and feel my birth.

It is typical for you to wonder from time to time, to want to know how much and what you mean to me. Let me share this though to tell you that you mean the world to me: “think of something you could not live without and multiply it by 100, think of what happiness means to you and add it to the feelings you get with the best days you have ever had with me. Now add up all your best feelings and take away all the rest. I want you to know that what you are left with is exactly how I feel about you.” You mean a lot more to me than you can imagine and much more than I will ever explain.

Do I command where I adore in you in case you are thinking what I have seen in you to feel this immensely?

Ok but silent like a sharp knife. It is those things in you which the world’s eyes do not see that I cherish.

In you, there are no superfluous tendencies. Do I praise the beauty of your luscious lips? Which harbours the brightest and most tender smile I have ever seen; yet so pure and innocent? Or your eyes, which as though look like they can see into my soul; thus makes me weak. Or is it your voice which is so soothing and every word races my pulse.

Do I praise your most voluptuous body, ever so permanent, so graceful, and intense with a warm presence? Oh, it is your caring heart which wipes away my sorrows like the early morning sun licking up the dew drops.

No it is how you have blessed me with your love and how beautiful my life is now that you are in my world. You are the inspiration behind this special note and I hope you know that you are as Shakespeare said “the life-giving spirit in my arteries” as you have changed my old ways; now am reflecting you in all that I do. I cannot wait to take you home and have you build me a nation!
