About Me

My photo

Pragmatic, reserved and a deep thinker who loves family, sports especially football where am married to two wives: the first, AC Milan who has my loyalty and the second wife, Manchester United who has all my undying love and pampering, lifestyle and society parties. Need I say the law is more than a profession but a lifestyle for me.

OUR MOTHERS, THE REAL FATHERS ON FATHERS DAY

Indeed it is fathers day and it is a day set aside to epitomise the love we have for our fathers. This august day is to show our love and gratification for our fathers for bringing us to this world and being the best they can be for us in all circumstances.

All day, I've seen different pictures pop up with varying fathers day messages. Indeed many have been putting up pictures of their dad some of whom, we had no privilege to see earlier together with heartfelt messages and wishes. All these brought compelling thoughts into my noble head and I make bold to say that the modern fathers are undeserving and unworthy of our love. Many have failed us when we needed them most. Where were these "supposed" fathers during our cradle days when they abandoned our mothers to the herculean task of bringing us up? Many absconded immediately they got our mothers pregnant; running from their responsibilities and leaving the mothers to shoulder it all with a big shoe to fit. If anyone doubts, check the statistics of single parents and you will be shocked at the rise in single mothers fending for their wards alone with no form of support or the meteoric rise of women who are now the family bread winner: paying the bills ranging from rents to mortgages and school fees with a host of many other needs they meet. What about those who batter our mothers and also abuse the children physically. Or those who for hating our mothers for reasons we often can't fathom; extend same to us?

I've no iota of doubt in my heart that there are a few fathers worthy of every bit of the love and dedication we give them. Those who will go through the fire to give us heaven and have an unflinching love for our mothers after all, it is said that the best love a man can have for his children is to love their mother. So to those real men out there who know the true family values and who care for their family, I wish you all a happy fathers day. Save that, I wish our outstanding and dedicated mothers a happy fathers day: the real fathers for they have become our father figure.
